Ambulance Service

In November 2015, the township board upgraded ambulance services in Whitewater Township from Basic Life Support (BLS) to Advanced Life Support (ALS). This means that the 2-person ambulance crew which responds to calls has at least one paramedic on board along with advanced equipment to provide the highest pre-hospital care available.
In December 2021, Whitewater Township renewed a contract with MMR which outlined sharing an ambulance with Acme Township. One ALS ambulance now covers both Whitewater and Acme townships 24/7/365 with that ambulance stationed in Acme Township during the daytime hours and Whitewater Township during nighttime hours. Back-up ambulance responses are provided by MMR units from Elk Rapids and Traverse City.
