In November 2015, the township board upgraded ambulance services in Whitewater Township from Basic Life Support (BLS) to Advanced Life Support (ALS). This means that the 2-person ambulance crew which responds to calls has at least one paramedic (the highest level of medical training for ambulance personnel) on board the ambulance on every call. Ambulance personnel are on duty 24/7/365 at the station on Old M-72.
ALS service is provided by Mobile Medical Response, Inc., headquartered in Saginaw, Michigan. They also provide ALS services in Elk Rapids Township and Milton Township.
